Forest Health Cost-Share Projects

Since 2024, Pend Oreille Conservation District has partnered with private landowners, the Washington State Conservation Commission, and other agencies to implement forest health and wildfire resilience projects across the county. These projects have helped reduce hazardous fuels, improve forest stand conditions, and protect homes and critical resources.

    • Landowners Participated: 5
    • Practices Implemented: Non-commercial thinning, hand piling, debris removal, pruning and chipping.
    • Funding Source: WA State Conservation Commission
