POCD is sensitive to privacy issues on the Internet. We believe it is important you know how the information, we receive over the Internet, is being treated. In general, you can visit the POCD Website on the World Wide Web without disclosing any information about yourself. There are times, however, when we may need information from you, such as your name and address.
Protection of personal information:
Your personal information will not be sold to third parties as part of a mailing list or otherwise. It is our policy to use the personal information you give us only to maintain and improve your relationship with us. We will take reasonable precautions to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, and alteration. The guidelines we use to protect the information you provide are as follows:
Collection of personal information:
1. For statistical purposes, our web server collects certain information to evaluate the number of visitors per day, and the areas of our site visited. We use this information for statistical purposes.
2. You may be requested to volunteer personal information on some areas of our site. The information we collect may be used in several ways, such as helping us understand the needs of visitors to our site, improving our customer service, notifying consumers about updates to our web site, and helping us contact landowners for project purposes.
3. We make reasonable efforts to maintain complete and accurate personal information for the information's intended use. Please send an email message to veronica@pocd.org with any changes or corrections you would like us to make.
4. Unless you have requested otherwise, we may include your personal information in our project contact database. If so, you may receive occasional communications from us. We will make reasonable efforts to remove you from our marketing contact database at any time upon your request.
