What is Cost Share?
How would you like to start a conservation project on your land, and have a helping hand pay for part of it? This is what Cost Share Programs are all about. If you have an idea for a project that will have a positive effect on water quality, wildlife habitats, or replanting, give us a call. We would love to come out and see what you have in mind. Our experience with planning and sponsoring grant-funded conservation projects could make a significant difference to the success of your project (Funded projects which we sponsor must have our Board of Supervisors approval before getting started).

USDA/Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) Programs

Since we are fortunate enough to share office space with our federal partner, we are usually up to speed on the conservation programs offered through NRCS. Currently, the Wetland Reserve Program (WRP), Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP), Wildlife Habitat Incentive Program (WHIP), Conservation Reserve Program (CRP), and other cost-share program applications can be submitted here at the Newport NRCS field office. For more information about NRCS and Federal cost-share programs in Pend Oreille County you can call Mark Simpson at (509) 447-4217
